Message from the Director

iLEAD Agua Dulce Director Lisa Latimer with learners

Dear iLEAD Agua Dulce Families,

We hope you have been enjoying the summer and have made many happy memories. We are looking forward to having all our learners back on campus and would like to welcome all our new families as well. Our learners will be very excited with the opening of our Makery and STEAM Lab, our Wellness Center, and meeting the newest members of our critter family — Penelope and Petunia the potbellied pigs! You will be receiving some important information in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to check your emails. Attached you will find our calendar, school supply list and iCREATE After School Program rates.

Important Dates to Remember

Meet the Facilitator Night, August 23, 5:30-6:30 PM

This is an informal evening where learners and families can stop by to see the classroom and meet the facilitators, and the learners can meet their new friends.

Back to School Night: September 9, 5:30-7:30 PM

As we are a project-based learning (PBL) school, our classrooms looks very different from those at a traditionally based school. Back to School Night will help you get to know what to expect throughout the year, what PBL looks like in the classroom, the various types of assessments we use, home connections, school culture and much more. It is a very informative evening where valuable information will be given. Please plan to attend.

First Day of School/Coffee and Muffins: August 24

Drop-off valet service and parking are located at the lower lot only. School begins at 8:45 AM and ends at 3:15 PM.

Be sure to join us at 9:00 AM in our garden area for some muffins and coffee to celebrate our first day of school.

Parent University: September 23 at 2:00-3:00 PM

Parent Universities are informative meetings that take place throughout the year covering topics that pertain to our school culture, such as project-based learning, Love and Logic, 7 Habits, play and more! Knowing all aspects of our school program will help you understand WHY we do what we do.

iSUPPORT: 1st Wednesday of each month, 9:00 AM

We have an amazing community of family volunteers who support our school in many ways. We hope you will attend our iSUPPORT meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. You will gain valuable information regarding how you can get involved, whether you volunteer in the classroom, assist on field trips, or join special event committees. iSUPPORT also helps keep families updated on what’s happening on campus, and it’s a great way to connect with each other. We value our volunteers! We look forward to seeing you there.

ParentSquare

Please be sure you have signed up for ParentSquare. Important reminders and information regarding school emergencies and events will be relayed through this system. ParentSquare sends notifications via email and text if you download the app at parentsquare.com.

Monday Message and School Website

The Monday Message is sent out each week to all our families with articles, upcoming events, pictures of learners, updates and other pertinent information regarding school activities. You can also find all our Monday Messages and other important information archived on our website at ileadaguadulce.org.

Social Media

iLEAD Agua Dulce has two social media platforms for families and friends to access. Our Facebook and Instagram accounts are updated frequently with pictures of our learners and descriptions of the learning process. Please check them out!

Lunch Program

Through the Summer Seamless Program, iLEAD Agua Dulce is currently providing meals for enrolled children up to 18 years of age at no charge. Learners who are signed up will receive a breakfast at recess and a lunch at lunch time Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, which are half days, we provide breakfast at recess but no lunch is served. Please email nicole.higdon@ileadaguadulce.org to sign up your learner(s).

We also provide meals to our off-site learners Monday through Thursday. If you would like to pick up meals, please email nicole.higdon@ileadaguadulce.org. To ensure we have enough food for everyone, please order with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

On a normal schedule, food service for off-site learners will be Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to noon:

  • Monday: Pick up meals for Monday.
  • Tuesday: Pick up meals for Tuesday.
  • Wednesday: Pick up meals for Wednesday.
  • Thursday: Pick up meals for Thursday & Friday.

Please note that when the school is closed due to a holiday, there will be no food service.

Meal service for off-site learners will be grab-and-go with minimal contact and may not be consumed on site. Breakfast and lunch will be served together. Please drive up to the front office in the upper parking lot (11311 Frascati St, Agua Dulce, CA), and we will come to the car. For your protection and ours, please wear a cloth face covering when picking up meals.

Stay tuned for more information!

With gratitude,

Lisa Latimer
Director
